SERVICES

  • 24-HOUR CARE

From a few hours to 24/7, we meet all your in-home care needs

At-home care is typically offered along a fairly typical continuum. It often starts with part-time assistance, maybe a few days per week. It then increases in frequency and length, often reaching the point where 24-hour care is required. We offer services along this entire scope, knowing that each client is unique and will have their own needs and challenges. We often place special emphasis on evening/overnight care as nights, and moving around in the dark, are frequent causes of accidents like slips and falls. We make a detailed assessment to find the best schedule to meet the needs of your loved one – whether it’s a few hours a week or 24/7.

  • ALZHEIMER’S AND DEMENTIA

Experienced with the unique challenges of memory loss

Alzheimer’s and dementia represent two major issues for families as both the mental and physical well-being of loved ones take center stage. Our highly trained staff, many with more than 10 years of experience working with patients with mental challenges, closely monitor our clients, day-and-night, to minimize risks and help with day-to-day activities. We also offer services to boost the mental engagement and acuity of our clients, including specialized games and exercises. As the affliction progress, Alzheimer’s and dementia patients face physical encumbrances, brought on by the mental afflictions. Our staff is trained to recognize issues with balance and equilibrium that can lead to unnecessary falls and injuries. We provide specialized, ongoing care for your loved one facing these difficult afflictions.

  • TELEMEDICINE SETUP

Using technology to improve at-home quality of life

The use of technology in medical care skyrocketed during the Covid-19 pandemic, and telemedicine, the practice of providing care through an internet video conference service or mobile phone app, has made it convenient to get medical advice without leaving the home. Many clients and their families immediately understand the benefit of minimizing in-person visits to physicians, but the technology is not necessarily easy to use, even for the tech-savvy. We know that many seniors have not made the shift to teleconferencing technology, so we offer assistance with setting up computers and laptops to provide telemedicine offerings. Our trained technical staff will configure your existing equipment to enable telemedicine or offer guidance on how to most cost-effectively configure a client’s home for the technology. Telemedicine is not only more convenient but also safer and oftentimes less expensive than visiting a doctor’s office.

  • PERSONAL CARE

Personalized care represents one of the cornerstones of our company

Personalized care represents one of the cornerstones of our company, and we follow a detailed matching process to ensure that our caregivers are well-suited with your loved ones. As our caregivers will be in your loved one’s home and spending a lot of time there, we want to be sure they complement in personality as well as skillset. We provide many personal touches, from meal prep and light laundry to daily activities like bathing and exercise. In addition, we can provide specialized services, such as driving, personal gift shopping on holidays, travel to medical appointments, and even out-of-town or seasonal travel companionship.

  • RESPITE CARE

Experience during difficult and transitional times

Every client and situation is different, and we know that short-term assistance is frequently needed for your loved ones. If a patient is recovering from surgery, for example, and assistance is needed temporarily, we can provide in-home care during this transitional time. This may include part-time services during the day or evening for a short period of weeks or months. We also offer hospice care services so a patient can be cared for in their home during trying times.

  • REHABILITATION CARE

Assisting on the road to recovery

The road to recovery can be bumpy for seniors, so we offer caregivers with specific training and guidance to assist during rehabilitation. Recovery from surgery is often daunting, as many seniors have to cope with a loss of mobility and acclimation to walkers or other assistance. Our caregivers have experience with the entire rehabilitation process and regularly attend physical therapy appointments with clients and help keep them on daily exercise schedules that are prescribed by licensed physical therapists. We work to smooth over the road to recovery from injuries that can otherwise negatively impact quality of life.

  • PALLIATIVE CARE

Working with medical professionals to ensure quality of life

Serious, long-lasting diseases and life-threatening illnesses require special attention, and our team of caregivers is trained for these situations. Assisting with pain treatments or other difficult symptoms is critical, but the family member’s emotional, spiritual and practical needs must also be properly addressed. Our team understands palliative care needs and works in conjunction with the family and healthcare providers to identify goals and be certain that they are met. Providing symptom relief, helping with access to spiritual comfort, and facilitating improved quality of life are at the forefront of our efforts.

  • DRIVING SERVICES

Offering safe, secure, and reliable transportation – and a feeling of freedom

The loss of mobility and the inability to “hit the road” whenever they choose is a common complaint from seniors in daily care. Car services are expensive and drivers for ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft don’t demonstrate care for your loved one or have experience with the elderly. We offer a wide range of driving services to help our clients make trips to the store, the airport, doctor’s appointments, or family gatherings. Our drivers provide water/coffee and newspapers to our travelers, walk our clients into their destination, and are familiar with the most effective drop-off points at physician offices and hospitals. Safe, secure, and reliable transportation is a wonderful benefit that we offer at a modest cost, and we also offer discounts for frequent passengers. We also strive to pair our clients with the same drivers whenever possible as our drivers are committed to our patients and consider themselves an integral part of our caregiving community.

  • HOME SAFETY

A safe home is a healthy home

A key part of being able to receive care within a home is that it is a safe space for your loved one.  We have a home safety checklist that we review with every client to help prevent unnecessary slips and falls as well as ensure that it is easy to communicate within the home. We recommend armbars in showers, raised toilet seats in bathrooms, non-skid flooring, and layout suggestions to minimize hazardous situations. The proliferation of smart home devices and internet-enabled products make it easier than ever to turn on lights, adjust room temperatures and see who might be knocking at the door. We help set up devices like smart speakers and teach our clients how to use them for their benefit. Assessment and preparedness can lead to the prevention of falls and injuries.
